Toshiba Wireless Keyboard skips first letter.

I have a customer with a PX30t Toshiba All In One computer that came with a cordless keyboard and mouse. The transceiver for this appears to be built in.

(First letter missing.)

If the keyboard and mouse is not touched for more than ten seconds, the first letter typed on the keyboard will not appear.

I could not find a solution. BIOS update to 1.30 made no difference, disabling all power saving options I could find (USB Hub, etc) made no difference. I could not resolve this problem.

Nobody seemed to have any answers online, me included I’m afraid.

Model PQQ30A-01G008.

Only thing I couuld prove is that the problem is not within the keyboard itself, since using the mouse prevents the keyboard connection dropping. If you find a solution, please email michael@auzzie.net.

Hi Kevin 🙂 This is the advice that my customer received from Toshiba:

      To fix keyboard:

Control Panel / manage Devices / Human Interface Devices. There are a number of USB tags (?) in the list. For each one I had to go to Properties and in Power Management turn OFF the option for the device to shut down the computer.

I had exactly the same problem with my Toshiba all in one and this is the first message I have been able to write without constantly correcting typo’s due to the missing keystrokes! All thanks to you, at last my frustration will be no more.
Cannot thank you enough for putting this FIX out there.
        Cheers, Jenny 🙂

YESSSS… I thought it might me some sort of power saving nonsense and YES cccmikey.. u called it correct!

Control Panel/ Device Manager/ Human Interface Device…then specifically with mine it was one of the “USB Input Device” power toggles. Not sure which one so I did them all too. Perrrfect now 🙂

I just went and turned those things off. I hope it works because typing on my computer has been a pain!
    Thanks!
